Everyone has a part to play in ensuring that the young people and adults at risk in netball are safe and getting the most they can from their involvement in the sport.
England Netball has developed Safeguarding policies for Young People and Adults at Risk in Netball. The policies provide a range of guidance and resources to help safeguard from any risk of harm to young people and adults at risk, providing them with best support available.
Whether you are a young person, an adult at risk, a parent/carer, a team member, a coach, a club official/volunteer or a Club Safeguarding Officer; you will find a section in these Safeguarding pages specific to your needs and links to lots of helpful documents and webpages.
Being involved in sport can bring many positives to a person. It is also an environment where people can find friends and role models. We know that there are many pressures in life and young people and adults at risk may have difficulties in coping. This has been taken on board and EN has broadened their definition of safeguarding to include well-being.
They guidance has been provided to help recognise and respond to the most frequently occurring issues and signposts to the numerous support organisations which can provide the expert help needed with these complex issues. Organisations which are accessible to young people and adults at risk are included in these webpages so that they have the option to take action to help themselves or if some help is needed we encourage them to use the information.
