Aylesbury & District Youth Netball League
The Aylesbury Youth Netball League has been running successfully since summer 2006. The League is closely linked to the Aylesbury Junior Netball League and provides an opportunity for players to continue playing netball within their own age groups before progressing to the Senior League Adult netball.
The League supports the England Netball principles by encouraging the development of players of age 16 and under locally. The League is open to all players between the ages of 14 to 16. There are currently two Divisions: A and B of seeded playing strength. Besides local teams of Cherokees, Flames and Thame there are teams from Leighton Buzzard and Milton Keynes.
Senior Clubs are also encouraged to enter youth teams in this age group.
The Youth League runs in three sessions, with breaks for half-term.
The Winter session runs on Thursday evenings from September to December on the indoor court at John Colet School, Wharf Road, Wendover, HP22 6HF from 6.45pm to 8.45pm.
The Spring session runs on Thursday evenings from January to April also at John Colet School.
The Summer session runs on Thursday from May to July on the three outdoor courts at Bedgrove Community Centre, Ambleside, Aylesbury HP21 9TT from 7pm to 9pm
Players can register as a single player or as a player in a specified team (e.g. School Team or club team). Those players who are not registered in a specific team will, where possible be allocated to a team prior to the start of the league.
Each team has a specified main contact. The cost of registration for each session is approx £20, which covers Court Fees, affiliation etc.
EN rules apply to the League and appropriate netball kit is encouraged to be worn at all times. Equipment such as bibs and balls are provided by the Aylesbury Youth Netball League.
The league encourages new umpires/trainee umpires and qualified umpires to attend games and practice their skills.
